Connecting a custom domain means your funnel or site loads at an address like www.yourbrand.com instead of a default Systeme.io address. It looks more professional and builds trust at checkout. The process is simple, but DNS changes can trip up beginners. This guide walks through the general steps and points out where things go wrong. Menu names and exact DNS values change over time, so always check the official Systeme.io help documentation and your dashboard for the current details.
Before You Start
What you need
- A domain you own, bought from a registrar (the company where you registered it).
- Login access to that registrar's DNS settings.
- A Systeme.io account. Confirm on the official site whether custom domains are available on your plan, since plan limits can change. For free-plan basics, see How many funnels and pages can you build on the Systeme.io free plan?
- At least one funnel or page you want to publish, even a draft.
Decide: root domain or subdomain
A root domain is yourbrand.com. A subdomain is something like go.yourbrand.com or shop.yourbrand.com. Subdomains are usually the easier and safer choice, especially if your root domain already runs a different website. Pointing the root domain at Systeme.io will replace whatever is there now.
| Option | Good for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Subdomain (go.yourbrand.com) | Funnels alongside an existing site | Slightly longer address |
| Root domain (yourbrand.com) | Systeme.io as your main site | Can break an existing site or email if misconfigured |
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Add the domain in Systeme.io
- Log in and open your account settings, then look for the domains section. The wording may differ, so check the help center if you can't find it.
- Choose to add a new domain and enter the exact address you want, such as go.yourbrand.com.
- Systeme.io will show the DNS record details you need to create. Keep this page open or copy the values exactly.
2. Create the DNS record at your registrar
- Log in to your registrar and find DNS settings (sometimes called DNS management or zone editor).
- Add a new record using the type, name and value that Systeme.io gave you. Subdomains typically use a CNAME record, but use whatever your dashboard specifies.
- Delete any conflicting record for the same name. A subdomain generally can't have two competing records.
- Save the changes.
3. Wait for DNS to update
Changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to many hours to spread across the internet. Don't keep editing the record every ten minutes; that usually makes it worse to troubleshoot. Return to Systeme.io and run the verification or save step once some time has passed.
4. Assign the domain to a funnel or page
Verification alone doesn't publish anything. Open the funnel, find its settings, and select your new domain for it. If you haven't built one yet, start with How to Build Your First Sales Funnel in Systeme.io, Step by Step.
5. Test everything
- Open the address in a private browser window.
- Check that it loads over https (the padlock). Security certificates may take extra time to activate.
- Click through every step, including checkout, on desktop and phone. If you sell, see How to Set Up a Checkout Flow with Order Bumps and Upsells in Systeme.io.
Common Problems and Fixes
- Verification fails: Usually a typo, a wrong record type, or DNS that hasn't updated. Compare each character against the dashboard values.
- Registrar adds your domain automatically: Some registrars append your domain to the record name. If you enter go.yourbrand.com, it may become go.yourbrand.com.yourbrand.com. Often you only enter "go".
- Old site disappeared: You likely pointed the root domain at Systeme.io. Restore the previous record and use a subdomain instead.
- Email stopped working: Don't delete MX or TXT records, which handle email. Only change the record for the name you're connecting.
- Browser shows a security warning: Wait longer for the certificate, then clear your cache and test again. If it persists, contact Systeme.io support.
- Page not found: The domain is verified but not assigned to a funnel or page.

- A custom domain won't make a weak offer convert. It adds credibility, but the page copy and offer matter far more. See How to Build a Sales Page That Converts in Systeme.io.
- You depend on two companies. Your registrar controls DNS and Systeme.io hosts the pages. If either has a problem, your page can be affected.
- Plan limits may apply. How many domains you can connect, and on which plan, is something to verify on the official pricing page before you commit.
- Renewal is on you. If the domain expires at your registrar, your pages go offline. Turn on auto-renew.
