Systeme.io has a community feature, but treat it as a basic add-on rather than a full community platform. Course certificates are a different story: I can't confirm a built-in certificate feature, so check the official site before you promise one to students. Features change, so confirm the current details on systeme.io before you build around either one.
Community: what to check
If you plan to run discussions, member posts or a student forum, test it yourself before you sell it. Create a free test course, enroll yourself as a student, and look at what the student sees. Ask:
- Can students post, reply and react, or can only you post?
- Can you set it up per course, or only for the whole account?
- Are there moderation tools, notifications and member profiles?
If the answers fall short of what you need, a common workaround is to link out to a separate tool, such as a private group on another platform, from inside your course. The trade-off is that students then have two logins and your community lives outside your course area.
Certificates: what to do
- Check the official site and help docs for the current feature list. Look specifically for "certificate" in the course settings.
- Test it with a dummy student account if it exists. See what triggers it and what it looks like.
- If it doesn't exist or is too limited, you can create a certificate design in a separate design tool and send it manually or through an automation, such as an email sent when a student finishes the course. Check that your setup can actually detect completion before you rely on it.
Be honest in your sales copy. A "certificate of completion" from you is not an accredited qualification. If students need recognized credentials, for example for professional licensing, check the requirements with the relevant accrediting body.
